Donegal reach Ulster U21 semi final without O’Connor

patrick mc breartyThe Donegal U21’s progressed to the semi finals of the Ulster Championship on Wednesday night with a 3-10 to 0-6 win over Fermanagh.
Kilcar’s Patrick McBrearty was the star of the night kicking 1-7 in very blustery conditions in Ballybofey.
McBrearty’s goal came from the penalty spot in the second half while the other two goals where scored in the opening half by Ciaran Mc Brearty and Willie Gillespie.
After playing in the MacLaron Cup Final on St Patrick’s Day Darach O’Connor and Kevin Mc Laughlin were not available due to injury.
Donegal will play the winners of the replay between Armagh and Antrim in the semi-final on Wednesday, April 2.
Speaking with Tom Comack afterwards, Donegal Manager Maxi Curran was disappointed to have lost O’Connor but was happy to have come through what was seen as a potential tricky assignment.
