Former Harps Manager King takes charge of Ireland

Noel KingFormer Finn Harps, Derry City and Shamrock Rovers manager Noel King will take over as temporary Ireland boss for the final World cup qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan next month.
King currently manages Irelands under 21’s and as part of the process his assistant Harry Mc Cue will take charge while King is away.
In a statement last night the F.A.I confirmed that Ray Houghton and Ruud Dokter, the FAI’s newly appointed High Performance Director will carry out the on-going assessment and report for the Board of the best candidates for the senior job.
The Board says it will take the appropriate time to appoint the best person to manage Ireland for the EURO 2016 campaign which starts in September next year.
Martin O’Neill remains favourite to get the role but he says he has yet to be contacted by the association.
