9 men arrested for dissident activities in Dublin

9 men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with ongoing investigations into dissident republican activity.
8 of them were detained during the search of a house in Tallaght yesterday evening and are being questioned on suspicion of being members of an unlawful organisation.
The eight range in age from their mid 20s to 40s and are being held at various Garda stations in the west of the city.
Whilst a 46-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon after a quantity of ammunition and component parts of explosives were found during the search of containers in a yard in Cloghran.
Security Editor with the Irish Independent Tom Brady says the arrests in Tallaght are believed to be linked to former supporters of the murdered Real IRA boss Alan Ryan.
“Heavy gardai members of the Emergency Response Unit and Garda Special Branch raided a house in Glenshane Crescent in Tallaght” he said.
“They had intelligence suggesting that there’s a meeting going on there involving the new IRA alliance”.
“They found 8 men in there, arrested them under Section 30 of the Offences against the State act” he added.
