Donegal County Council and the Gardai have said there will be no repeat of what happened on Rossnowlagh Beach earlier this month.

A fortnight ago thousands of people and hundreds of cars packed on to Rossnowlagh and with the incoming tide approaching, cars tried to leave at the same time leading to traffic chaos.

Donegal County Council have stopped short of barring cars from the beach, but they have said that in future all entry and exit points for traffic will be kept clear by Gardai.

Cllr Sean McEniff said if cars are continued to be allowed to park on the beach, the there's a risk that Rossnowlagh could lose its blue flag status.......
