An emergency motion in support of St Joseph’s Hospital in Stranorlar is to be moved at today’s meeting of Donegal County Council.
A HIQA report released last week, expressed concern about a number of issues at the hospital, including the admission and discharge of residents, the security of the building and the maintenance of the premises.
Councillor Cora Harvey is calling for additional resources to be allocated to the community hospital in light of the report, and says she will submit an emergency motion to Donegal County Council this morning, calling for the recruitment moratorium imposed by the HSE to be lifted.
A cross party meeting in support of the hospital has been organised for Thursday this week in the Finn Valley Centre at 7.30, and Cllr Harvey says today’s motion is an important prelude to the meeting…….
