Donegal IFA express anger as government flip flops on 3rd level grants

The Head of the IFA in Donegal has hit out at the Education Minister after he said plans to include farm or business assets in the means-test for third level grants are “still on the table”.
This despite the new Junior Agriculture Minister Tom Hayes claiming the proposals had been “dropped”.
But Minister Quinn has hit back at his new cabinet colleague – saying he will bring a memo to cabinet to include the assets from September of next year:


The Donegal IFA’s PJ McMonagle says that will have a huge impact on farming families and says at the very least, clarity on the situation is needed:
