Derry and Strabane to benefit from the creation of 450 jobs by Allstate

Both Derry and Strabane will benefit from an announcement by Allstate of a 450 ‘new jobs’ .

The American insurance company currently employs 1,900 people at its premises at Orchard Rd Industrial Estate in Strabane as well as in Derry and Belfast.

While it is not clear how many new jobs will be created in either Derry or Strabane, the news has been broadly welcomed locally.

First Minister Peter Robinson said the jobs announcement "by a top Fortune 100 company sends out a clear and unequivocal message to international investors to have confidence in Northern Ireland".
