Alex Ferguson announces his retirement from management

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will retire at the end of the season.
The 71-year-old will become a director and an ambassador for the club.
Former Scotland boss Craig Brown is a friend of the most successful manager in British football history.
“I suspected it, because I got a letter from him myself a couple of weeks ago when I retired – saying ‘you’ve escaped just before me'” he said.
“So I wondered if he was hinting at something at that point – but I’ve not spoken to him about it, and it is a bit of a surprise to be honest” he added.
