Derry Police in appeal after man is left seriously injured in petrol bomb attack

Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following a man being seriously injured in the Ben Varden Avenue area on the evening of Friday 3 May.
At approximately 11.10pm, it is believed that two male youths smashed a window of a house and threw a lit petrol bomb into it.
The petrol bomb struck a 45 year old man who was in the house at the time.
Two neighbours responded and rescued the man from the house. He was then taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which were initially thought to be life threatening. His condition is currently described as serious but stable.
The two male youths were dressed in grey hooded tops and had scarfs over their faces. It is believed that they made off in the direction of Dervock Place.
