Mc Gowan’s concern for future of water network in Donegal

A Donegal councillor says he fears the county will suffer badly when Irish Water takes over control of the supply infrastructure.

Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan says the network in the county is failing daily, but all the indications are that Irisj Water will focus its investment in larger cities where it can attract funding through public private partnership arrangements.

He was speaking after the council confirmed this morning that a major problem which was leading to complaints about the water in Convoy has been resolved, and supplies will be back to normal this week.

However he says longer term investment is needed, and he fears that will not now come......
