Planning Institute president calls for all-island planning strategies

The President of the Irish Planning Institute has called for new all island planning strategies which involve real cross border collaboration.

Speaking at the institute’s annual conference which is on in Belfast at the moment, Joanna Kelly said an all-island spatial strategy is needed to drive development, while an all-island Landscape Strategy is needed to deal with issues such as fracking projects and windfarms.
She told the conference that all national and regional policy documents throughout the island should be aligned so that the public policies are consistent.
Joanna Kelly told Highland Radio new that with Minister Phil Hogan reviewing the spatial strategy on this side of the border, it’s an opportune time to raise the issue……….
