Mc Conalogue hits out at government silence on the A5

The Government has stongly rejected accusation from a Donegal TD that it is not full committed to the A5 dual carraigeway upgrade.
Charlie McConologue raised the issue in the Dail hitting out at Transport Minister Leo Varadkar for not being present to answer the question.
The A5 has been stalled after a Judge in the Northern Ireland upheld an objection from the Alternative A5 Alliance which related to the European Habitats directive.
Deputy McConologue says since the decision, no senior Government members have spoken out – he says that wouldn’t be the case if the road was elsewhere in the country:
