An Inishowen councillor is seeking an urgent meeting with the County Manager to discuss recent revelations regarding the ownership of the sea bed of Lough Foyle.
Cllr Jack Murray and Donegal North East Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn have raised concerns with the council over recent reports that the British Crown Estate claim to own the entire seabed of Lough Foyle.
It’s nowe thought that the Crown Easate may challenge Donegal County Council’s plans to run an outflow pipe from the proposed Moville/ Greencastle sewerage scheme into the Lough at Carnagarve.
Cllr Murray says in the face of well documented opposition, millions of taxpayer’s money has been spent on this project to date, and it would be indefensible for more to be wasted………..
