Price of land in Donegal decreases, while average price in rest of country goes up

landThe price of agriculture land has decreased in Donegal, despite increasing across the rest of the country for the first time in six years.
According to the Irish Farmers Journal Agricultural Land Price Report 2012, the average price per acre in Donegal dropped by 5.5%, yet the average price per acre across the rest of the country went up by 14.3% last year.
The average price per acre of farmland in Donegal was €8,864, compared to the price nationally of around €10,000 per acre.
However despite the 5.5% drop in price, 959 acres were offered for sale in the county last year – up from the 510 acres offered for sale in 2011.
