Meath East By-Election to take place on March 27th

The Environment Minister has confirmed that the Meath East By-Election will take place on Wednesday, March 27th.
However, Phil Hogan says the polling period will be reduced – from 8am to 9pm, in an effort to reduce costs.
The vacancy of a TD in the constituency arose following the sudden death of the Junior Minister Shane McEntee in December.
It’s expected his daughter Helen will contest the election for Fine Gael.
The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, March 13th.
