Students call for changes to how maths is taught

Over two thirds of students think their maths teachers ability should be measured on the performance of their students.
The survey carried out by Engineers Ireland also found that 84 per cent of Irish students think that if engineers visited classrooms to explain the practical applications of maths in everyday life that it would help their understanding of the subject.
The findings were revealed as part of Engineers Week 2013.
