Soccer – Derry Beat Harps At Finn Park

Finn Harps and Derry City’s pre-season preparations stepped up a gear on Sunday as the two North West senior sides clashed in a derby friendly at Finn Park.

The visiting Candystrips won the game 2-1 with substitutes Rory Patterson and Ryan Curran scoring for Derry, while Paul Mc Veigh scored for the Ballybofey outfit.

Harps kick off their season this coming weekend with a league cup game against the Mayo League while Derry start with a Setanta Cup fixture against Drogheda and then a home tie against defending champions Sligo Rovers in the Premier Division.

Diarmaid Doherty attended the game at Finn Park for Highland Sport and got reaction afterwards from both camps…
