Boxing – Quigley Crowned Champion But Disappointment For Mc Laughlin

There were mixed results for the Donegal fighters at the National Elite Finals in Dublin over the weekend.

For the first time in his career Finn Valley’s Jason Quigley was crowned Irish Senior Middleweight Champion. The European gold medalist from last year beat Roy Sheahan in the final 15 -6.

Illies Golden Gloves man William Mc Laughlin lost out in the Welterweight decider to Adam Nolan of Bray. The 69kg champion from 2009 who was controversially outscored 23-12 almost had the Irish Olympian on the deck in the third.
