Lead investigator may be dropped from Pistorius case

There are conflicting reports about whether the lead investigator into the murder case against Oscar Pistorius has been dropped.
Detective Hilton Botha is himself facing 7 charges of attempted murder for an incident in 2011.
Reports this morning had suggested he had been dropped.
However AFP say South African police have told them that no decision has been taken yet on whether to drop Botha.
The athlete’s bail hearing is resuming this morning.
He has been charged with murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steencamp last week.
Meanwhile reporter Alex Crawford in Pretoria updates us on Oscar Pistorius’ murder bail hearing.
“We’re going to hear the final arguments in the defence and the prosecution – and then the Chief Magistrate will be left to work out whether the defence has really proved that there are exceptional circumstances, and that they they have got those – and Oscar Pistorius can be freed on bail” she said.
