Derry man in court on drugs charges

  A Derry man has been sent for trial to the Crown Court on 12 drug related charges.
28 year-old Simon Kirk of 8, Henry Street, Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate’s Court today.
He faced two charges of importing illegal substances, two charges of possessing Class C drugs with intent to supply, five charges of being concerned in the supply of drugs and 5 charges of possessing drugs.
All the offences are said to have occurred between December 2010 and October 2011.
It was accepted that there was a case to answer and Kirk said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He was returned for trial to appear at Derry Crown Court on March 7.
He was released on continuing bail.
