Man charged over pensioner burglary in Tullamore

A 26-year-old man has appeared before Tullamore District Court charged with the burglary at the home of an elderly woman.

Richard McCann, with an address at Harbour View in Tullamore is charged with the burglary and with handling 2 sets of keys stolen from the pensioner's home at St. Brigid's Place in Tullamore on Monday.

He also faces three counts of drug possession including one for sale and supply.

Mr. McCann was released on bail with conditions - including that he have no direct or indirect contact with witnesses in the case and also that he stay out of Co. Offaly - except for court appearances.

The case was adjourned to April 10th for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to indicate directions.
