There have been calls for a county wide effort to convert Donegal’s disused railway lines lines in to cycle paths.
A similar project was undertaken in County Mayo and has proven to be very successful not only with locals but also as a tourist attraction.
A number of local communities across Donegal are pursuing a similar idea here, however Letterkenny Town Council Gerry McMonagle is calling for a more organised county wide approach:
