Soccer – Forde & Sammon Could Feature In Sweden Game

Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni says former Derry City keeper David Forde will be in goal for the World cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria next month if Kieran Westwood remains on the bench at Sunderland.
The Galway man who made some good saves in last nights 2-0 win over Poland at the Aviva says he hopes his form stays…

Trapattoni also said that another former Derry member Conor Sammon could start the next  qualifier against the Sweds.
The Derby striker made his international debut during last night’s win  and Trap has admitted that he could now come into contention for the trip to Stockholm.
Aston Villa’s  Ciaran Clark who has family connections with Donegal gave Ireland the lead in that game scoring for the first time at senior level.
Also this week, Donegal’s Carl Mc Hugh made his debut in the Republics U21 side which beat Holland 3-0 in a friendly.
McHugh who has been in superb form for his club Bradford played the second half at the Tallaght Stadium.
Derry’s Shane Duffy captained the Ireland team.
