Donegal priest quits parish claiming he was abused

A County Donegal based priest has resigned from his parish due to claims he was physically and verbally abused by a small number of parishioners.
74 year-old Fr Bill McGeady, the curate in Glencolmcille informed parishioners by way of a letter yesterday.
Copies of the letter were left for parishioners  after Sunday Mass – in them Fr Bill McGeady said a very small number of people wanted to tell home how to run the parish.
He said that when he refused to listen to them, he was verbally and physically abused in the church and the street.
Fr McGeady said that those that had issue with him, wrote to Bishop Philip Boyce but they did not inform the Bishop of the abuse they gave him.
He says it has affected his mental and physical health.
Originally from Scotland, Fr McGeady said he would miss the good and decent people of the parish and said overall, he  enjoyed his time in the Parish.
