Two men arrested on suspicion of growing €240,000 worth of cannabis plants

A Chinese take-away boss has been arrested on suspicion of growing €240,000 worth of cannabis plants.
The 70-year-old, well-known in South Donegal and who has been 40 years in Ireland, was arrested with a 52-year-old China native in a car south of Barnesmore Gap.
They are being quizzed at Ballyshannon Garda station.
Following the arrests gardai searched a farmhouse at Garvanagh, Ballintra at 10.30 pm last night.
They found around 300 cannabis plants in the early stages of cultivation and with a street value of €240,000.
