Deputy Pringle says companies that supplied schools

Donegal South West Deputy Thomas Pringle is asking the government for evidence that the impact on jobs was assessed when it was decided that public service bodies such as schools are to now purchase supplies from centralised companies through public procurement.
Last evening, Junior Minister Brian Hayes told the Dail that a centralised procurement system is necessary to end a situation whereby in many cases, state bodies were paying too much………..

However, Deputy Pringle says there are a number of local companies in Donegal that have provided supplies to schools, for many years, and are now facing a bleak future.
And he has hit out at Minister Hayes, who accused local public sector managers of “looking after their friends” when choosing where to buy their goods from.
Deputy Pringle called those comments disgraceful….
