Donegal burglaries to be raised with Minister for Justice

Gardai are investigating two more aggravated burglaries on the homes of elderly people in Donegal.
They happened yesterday evening, and involved five men – it’s understood Gardai are investigating the possibility that the incidents are linked.
In the first robbery – a gang forced their way into the home of a man in his 60’s at Linsfort in Buncrana at half past seven.
They demanded cash, assaulted the man and locked him into a shed before fleeing the scene with a small amount of money – the man suffered minor injuries but freed himself a short time later and raised the alarm.
At nine o’clock, five men called to the home of an 80 year old woman at Ture in the Muff area, assaulted her and demanded cash – it’s not yet known if anything was taken in this second incident.
Gardai believe a blue or grey Proton car with a Northern Ireland registration plate may have been used in both incidents – and they’ve appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Buncrana Garda station.
Meanwhile Sinn Fein’s justice spokesperson says he wants to raise the issue with the Justice Minister in the Dail today.
Donegal Deputy Padraig MacLoghlainn says something must be done:
