University for Derry campaign group calls for progress in 2013

The University for Derry group is urging the Northern Ireland Executive and the University of Ulster to take the necessary steps to fully implement the One Plan programme for the expansion of Magee campus, to 9400 full time equivalent students by 2020.

U4D say they've been told by the Stormont administration that the University of Ulster has not made official representations since submitting its Strategic Outline Case, and that's why it's not been given exclusive access to new places next year. However, the university says it's not been asked to submity new documents.

U4D Chair Padraig Canavan says the situation seems to be going around in circles, and the logjam must be broken........
