O’Domhnaill calls for 75% of Ireland’s overseas budget to be diverted

A Donegal Senator is calling for 75% of Ireland’s overseas Aid budget to be frozen for three years with the money instead diverted to Families, Carers and Child Benefit.
Senator Brian O’Domhnaill says that’s the proportion of Ireland’s Aid budget goes to the EU, UN, World bank and other institutions including corrupt Governments. He argues that the proportion of the money which goes to NGOs such as Trocaire should be retained, and the rest used at home.
He says Ireland borrows the money for the aid budget, and those funds could be better spent on reversing cuts implemented in Budget 2013:
