Strabane businesses face being ‘wiped-out’ if rates aren’t reduced

A Strabane businessman has said that the town centre is facing wipe-out if there is no drastic action to reduce rates bills.
A number of businesses in the town centre have already closed over the last number of years, and excessive rates are being blamed.
Declan Hughes, who runs Gormley’s shoe shop in the town pays £900 a month in rates.
Mr Hughes, who is also the President of Strabane Chamber of Commerce says many businesses will hit the wall if rates aren’t reduced:
