Motorist pleads not guilty to dangerous driving causing death charge

A motorist has today pleaded not guilty at Donegal Circuit Court to dangerous driving causing death on the main road at a turning leading to Murvagh Golf Club near Donegal town.
Paul Murrin, 48,denied before a jury that he caused the death of Daithi White by dangerous driving at Ballybulgen, Ballintra, on January 24 last year.
Judge John O’Hagan was told the trial of Murrin, of Ballymagowan, Dunkineely, was expected to take two days.
Prosecutor Patricia McLaughlin told the court that Mr White, of Woodbrook Heights, Ballisadare, Co. Sligo, a father of three, was 38 years old when he died in hospital two days after the accident between two vehicles.
The case continues.
