Former AssetCo worker tells CPWP rally “I may have to emigrate”

A Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay rally in Letterkenny this afternoon has been told by a former Assetco worker that she and others may have no choice but to emigrate as a result of Wednesday’s budget.
The call centre, which was located at Lisfannon in Buncrana closed without warning last month after Assetco’s parent company lost a key contract with the London fire brigade.
Tracy Doherty was one of the speakers to address a crowd of almost 500 people who marched from Station Roundabout to Market Square this afternoon.
She said the budget was another betrayal………..

Meanwhile, Donegal South West Deputy Thomas Pringle has called on Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail to call for non-payment of the new property tax.
The Independent TD told the rally that it’s not enough to say they are opposed to the charge, they need to become directly involved in the campaign.
Deputy Pringle also hit out at the perception that Donegal people don’t want to contribute and say no to everything…………..
