Mc Conalogue meets carers protesting outside Dail

The Tanaiste is defending the budget – insisting it stands and will not be unravelled.
3.5 billion euro in tax hikes and spending cuts were announced on Wednesday – in the sixth austerity budget in four years.
Eamon Gilmore says in an ideal situation, no cuts would’ve been made – but he says the decisions taken were necessary.
Meanwhile, hundreds of carers, some of them from Donegal, have been protesting outside the Dáil demanding the cut in the respite grant be reversed.
They say the near twenty percent cut in the grant is too much to bear.
They were joined outside the gates of the Dail by a number of opposition TDs, including Donegal North West Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue……
