€840,000 allocated for Donegal sports groups

More than half a million euro in grants have been allocated to various Donegal sports groups and organisations.

A total of €840,00 was allocated from the Sports Capital Funding for the county by Minister Michael Ring.

The biggest single allocation of €100,000 has been made to Dungloe GAA club while Letterkenny Community Centre received €90,000.

The announcement has been welcomed by local Senator Jimmy Harte....

But, while welcoming the announcement, Fianna Fail Senator Brian O Domhnaill said he was dissatisfied that a further 88 applications from the county were refused.

He said the 110 applications in total from Donegal, were all worthy applications....
