Donegal County Council is being urged to highlight Donegal’s unique needs to those responsible for deciding the new Electoral Area Boundaries.
The Committee forms part of the next step in implementing the Action Programme for Effective Local Government and in reforming local government structures.
Donegal’s Town Council’s will be replaced by a new system of representation.
But Councillor Dessie Larkin fears council offices and services throughout the county could be cut back – he says that would not take into consideration specific issues effecting the county:
