Joe Brolly says he never gave a second thought to donating one of his kidneys to his friend.
The former Derry footballer gave his kidney to Shane Finnegan just over a month ago, sparking an increased public interest in the living donor programme.
This year will see a record high in the number of people donating organs to family members and friends with 32 living donor transplants set to be completed by the end of December.
His donation to his friend ultimately failed but he says he would do it again in the morning……
