It’s emerged that Donegal has the highest proportion of college students who receive grants, with 90% of first time students in the county in receipt of support. That contrasts with the Dublin figure of 31%.
After Donegal, students from Roscommon and Leitrim are next when it comes to grant payouts, with the trends showing a high level of eligibility in the West and North West, and a substantially lower eligibility in urban areas.
