New group promises a more inclusive approach to austerity protest

A new group has been established in Donegal to protest against the Household Charge and any future water and property charges.

"Can't Pay, No Pay - Donegal Inclusive" say they are not a breakaway organisation, but will reach out to all people and groups, including closer ties with Donegal Action Against Austerity.

The group was forumlated at a meeting in Ballybofey last night attended by Socialist TD Joe Higgins, and is pledging to provide a new focus to the ongoing campaigns.

One of the issues raised last night was a perceived lack of supoport from public representitives, with many of the people present demanding candidates in the next local election.

Chairperson John Mc Closkey says that's a distinct possibility..........
