Derry Christmas Market gets go for alcohol licence

A continental-style Christmas market in Derry will go ahead with a bar, after objections from local publicans were withdrawn.
Five publicans had objected to the application for an alcohol licence by Meenan Squate Limited to run the bar in Guildhall Square.
They argued that it would damage their trade.
Kate Finenan is the Project Manager of the Derry City Christmas market, and she says thousands will be attracted to Derry, so the local bars and resteraunts will actually gain more business…..

The continental market will run from December 1 to December 22, it will be open to 8pm from Monday to Thursday, and to 11pm from Friday to Sunday.
