Mayor calls for legislation to tackle cyber-bullying

There have been calls for greater controls to help stamp out cyber bullying – following the death by suicide of a Donegal teenager at the weekend.
It’s believed 13 year old Erin Gallagher from Ballybofey had been the victim of bullying on social networking sites.
Her death follows the suicide last month of 15 year old Ciara Pugsley in Co. Leitrim – after she was subjected to a campaign of online bullying.
Donegal’s Mayor Cllr Frank Mc Brearty today called for legislation to tackle the issue……..


However, Ian Power of the youth support website SPUNOUT.IE says simply banning websites won’t solve the problem of cyber bullying……….
