500k funding boost for Derry’s derelict buildings

Derry city council is to receive £500,000 of funding for a programme of environmental improvements.
The money will fund a programme of environmental improvements to tackle dereliction in Derry in the lead up to City of Culture 2013.
Environment minister Alex Attwood is in the city today to confirm the details of how the money will be spent.
SDLP Councillor Martin Reilly, who as Chair of Derry City Council’s Development Committee, says the funding recognises the importance of investing in Derry’s built heritage:
