A Donegal VEC member is repeating calls for polling clerk positions to be advertised.
Peter Cutliffe says he has written to the County Registrar in Donegal on a number of occasions, but received no reply.
He says advertising the positions would give young unemployed people an opportunity to get much needed work-experience. However, he says there's no sign of positions being advertised, even though the Environment MInister has asked that unemployed people be considered for some polling clerk posts.
Mr Cutliffe says simply hiring the same people each time is not a proper way to fill what are public service positions...........
