With confirmation expected this week that town councils are to be scrapped, the Mayor of Letterkenny is predicting funding for the town to drop by as much as 60%.
The Minister for the Environment is expected to formally confirm this week that Donegal’s three town councils, as well as those around the country, are to be phased out and replaced.
It is expected that three or more borough councils will represent Donegal – covering wider areas.
