It’s emerged the unoccupied house which was apparently set on fire on the Long Lane in Letterkenny this morning had been damaged in an arson attack six months ago.
There was nobody in the building at the time today’s fire was reported at around 7 o’clock this morning.
Gardai have confirmed the cause of the fire is under investigation. We understand an adjoining house, which is also unoccupied has also sustained some damage.
Local Councillor Gerry Mc Monagle says there are a number of unoccupied homes in the area, and he’s calling on the owners to make them secure….
