A 22 year old man has been airlifted to hospital after his 2-seater plane crashed in the county earlier today.
He was the pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, which went down at Kilpatrick between Convoy and Castlefin in high winds. Accident and emergency services were rushed to the scene at about 1.30 this afternoon.
The Coastguard helicopter has airlifted the man – who suffered serious injuries – to Letterkenny General Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
