As part of Garda Community Safety Week Donegal Gardai are advising people living on their own, particularly the elderly, to not allow callers they don’t know into their homes.
There have been a number of cases in Donegal in recent weeks where callers have attempted to gain access to homes under false pretences.
There is a concern some bogus callers are using the digital switch over and the introduction of water metres as ploys to gain access.
