The North’s Health Minister Edwin Poots has confirmed that construction of the planned radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin should commence next year.
The issue was raised by West Tyrone MLA Michela Boyle, who sought reassurance that the plans remain on track.
In his response, Mr Poots said construction should commence in 2013, with a view to the unit being operational by 2016.
