Gynae ward march to take place at 2 o’clock this afternoon

Hundreds are expected to take part in a march later today in protest at changes to Gynecological services at Letterkenny General Hospital.

Only yesterday it was confirmed that the controversial transfer of gynae services will take place on Monday.

Six specialist beds are being moved from the present Gynae ward to Surgical 2, two floors above, but the hospital is saying services will not be compromised.

The move does however, effectively means the closure of the Gynae Ward.

Today's march takes place at 2pm from LYIT to the square in Letterkenny - it is being organised by Linda Cullen:
