There has been a small month on month fall in the number signing on in Donegal but the live register still shows 22,229 people in receipt of social welfare in the county.
There was also a fall in those signing on last month compared to August of 2011 but community groups attribute that to emigration rather than job creation.
In August 2011 there were 23,079 people in receipt of welfare in Donegal - that number has decreased to 22,229.
From July to August of this year the fall is 230.
There was a slight fall in those signing on in the Finn Valley and Letterkenny areas, as was the case in Inishowen, Dungloe, Ballyshannon /Bundoran, Killybegs and Dunfanaghy.
The only area to record an increase was at the Donegal Town office.
Year on year the only area to record an increase was Dungloe.
