LYIT President welcomes £12 million funding for Science Park

The President of Letterkenny I.T. has welcomed funding of 12 million pounds to progress plans for a Northwest Science Park on the Fort George site in Derry and in Letterkenny.

The plans would see a partnership between the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast with ILEX and Letterkenny Institute of Technology in the North West.

Ilex believe the venture could create up to 280 high-paid technology jobs, 100 hundred of those based in Letterkenny.

L.Y.I.T president Paul Hannigan says that the proposed science park would add significantly to work already being done at the institute and has the potential to create many jobs:
